So right now, I have 9 guitars. Most of them will be sold. Come to think of it, I might sell all of them in the future. In other words, I don’t have a favourite guitar that I want to keep for good. And I am still searching for that elusive guitar that I want to spend the rest of my life with.
At this juncture, I want to keep my Squier Bullet Stratocaster longer cos it cost me only $60. I will never keep any stratocaster for long cos the sound is too clean for my liking. Surprisingly, I quite like the sounds of the Fender Mexican Stratocaster. Still, I want to sell her based on the business sense. The James Tyler is the best guitar I have now, but she’s a stratocaster, and it makes business sense to sell her.
The next one I may keep longer is the Squier Affinity Series Jazzmaster, simply cos it sounds the best amongst the budget guitars. And she makes me want to go after an American Fender Jazzmaster.
I have the Squier Affinity Series Telecaster which sounds very authentic. I may or may not keep her for long. Eventually, I have to get an American Fender Telecaster.
From the business perspective, my vintage Fender Precision Bass must go, but not at a wrong price. She will turn 50 in three years’ time, like me. So keeping her is not a bad thing.
I’ve also put up my Japanese Ibanez RT-150 for sale after some business consideration.
So here’s yet another revised list of wants where I hope I can find the elusive guitar:
- Gibson Les Paul (1990s)
- Fender Jaguar
- Fender Jazzmaster
- Ernie Ball Music Man Majesty
- Squier Classic Vibe ’50s Precision Bass
- Squier Bass VI
- PRS SE 277
