10 May 2020 will be remembered as the day I bade farewell to the faithful workhorse in my Yamaha CG-130A.
I am sad but there are no tears. I have chosen to let her go so that my music creativity has room for others.
My made-in-Taiwan Yamaha CG-130A was bought from a school mate back in 1991 for $150. I wanted to learn playing the guitar. She was my first ever guitar. Since Day 1, she was my companion. I learned with her, I led singspirations with her and I composed music with her. I owed it to her that I can be a proficient guitarist today because we spent a huge amount of time together for years. I am not sure if we had clocked 10000 hours together, but it felt so.
So it’s with a rather heavy heart that I had to let her go. I hope she will go on to work with another guitarist well for many years to come. She’s old but she’s that good. So long, my yamaha!
