Broadcasting Soul, One Watt at a Time.
Each of these amps brings its own voice, from classic tube warmth to digital versatility, all fine-tuned to complement my guitars and musical style. Some of these amps are standbys that see regular use, while others are just waiting for the right player or purpose to make them shine again.
Fender Pro Junior IV
This all-tube 15-watt combo is the heart and soul of my Love Notes signal chain. Its warm, creamy tone responds beautifully to my playing dynamics, making it perfect for expressive blues and rock phrasing. I especially love how it cleans up nicely when I roll back the guitar volume, and how it naturally breaks up into a sweet overdrive when pushed. Paired with the Bugera PS1 Power Soak, I can crank the amp to get that coveted tube saturation without blasting the room—ideal for home practice and studio recording. This setup truly captures the classic Fender mojo I chase.
Bugera PS1 Power Soak
This trusty attenuator sits between my Pro Junior and speaker, letting me drive the amp hard for that natural tube compression and warmth, while keeping the volume manageable. It’s like having a volume control for tone, and it’s indispensable when I want that cranked amp feel but live in a neighbor-friendly space.
Blackstar HT-1R MkII
Central to my Green Movement rig, this 1-watt tube combo offers remarkable tone versatility for its size. It nails everything from clean and jangly to gritty blues crunch and smooth, creamy overdrive. The British-voiced character adds a different flavor compared to my Fender amp, giving me fresh inspiration and tonal options, especially when layering pedals in low-volume settings or recording direct.
Yamaha THR10II
A compact modeling amp that’s surprisingly expressive and versatile. I use it in my Syndi and ET chains, where it handles everything from clean synth textures to heavy, distorted tones. Its built-in effects and amp models make it a playground for sound design, and its USB connectivity makes recording effortless. It’s my secret weapon for bedroom recording and quick tonal shifts.
ZT Lunchbox LBG2
The powerhouse of my Bass Chops setup. Despite its small size, this bass amp delivers punchy, clear lows and defined mids that cut through any mix. Perfect for practice and smaller gigs, it keeps my bass tone tight and controlled, matching my playing style and signal chain needs without the bulk of a full-sized amp.
Orange Crush Mini + Orange PPC108
Although not currently part of any active signal chain, this pair is too visually and sonically cool to retire. The Crush Mini’s classic Orange tone—punchy, warm, and dynamic—combined with the rugged PPC108 cabinet’s projection makes it a potential future candidate for compact gigs or practice sessions where tube warmth isn’t essential. For now, they’re eye candy and a reminder of Orange’s legendary amp heritage.
Blackstar FLY 3 Union Flag
Another compact amp that’s currently waiting in the wings. The FLY 3’s British-voiced tone and iconic Union Flag design make it a fun, portable choice for impromptu practice or travel. It’s not part of my main chains yet, but I love having it on standby for moments when I want quick setup or a tonal palette that’s different from my tube amps.
