guitars

In every worn fret and every faded finish,

there lives a piece of a story.

Some guitars have stayed — anchors of sound and soul.

Some are on their way — carrying dreams forward.

All of them, in their own way, have sung a part of me.

🪵 Legacy Guitar

Guitars that hold deep meaning, historic value, or family-level importance. These stay, even if not played often. They are part of the story.

1988 Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster “Red”
My home guitar, my #1. Built in 1988, this is an early example of the Eric Clapton signature Strat — alder body, soft “V” maple neck, and those signature Lace Sensor pickups. The active mid-boost (up to 25 dB) gives it the “Clapton voice,” but what makes Red my guitar is the way she feels alive in my hands. She’s been with me long enough to be more than wood and wire — she’s my voice, my compass, and the one guitar I will never part with.

2023 Fender Japan Haruna Telecaster® Boost “Spring”

Spring, my telecaster in Arctic White, is a modern machine with vintage soul. Her four knobs and Tim Shaw Shawbuckers deliver everything from pristine cleans to gritty roar, all with effortless playability. She’s versatile—clean, boosted, or through pedals, she shines. More than a guitar, Spring is a perfect blend of feel, tone, and style, and a special addition to my collection. She’s also my #1, my home, now.

1996 Gibson Custom Shop Historic Collection ’56 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue (R6) “Regent”
Revered. Royal. This Goldtop reissue, with its solid mahogany body, carved maple top, and soapbar P-90 pickups, has the weight and authority of a king. She isn’t a guitar I reach for every day, but when I do, it’s like summoning a piece of history — thick, singing sustain, and a gravitas that only a well-made Gibson can deliver.

2023 Fender Japan Traditional 60s Mustang “Faith”
A short-scale work of art. Basswood body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, and those clean, jangly Mustang single coils — simple, but every note sings. “Faith” is named after one of my girls; one day, she will be theirs, a legacy waiting patiently in its case until the right hands hold her.

🎸 Work Guitar

(Apart from the Clapton) Gear that speaks my voice. Tools I reach for when I’m not thinking, just playing. These are the ones that help me serve others.

2012 Gibson Les Paul Studio ’70s Tribute Left-Handed “Free”
My warrior. She’s chambered mahogany, maple top, baked maple fingerboard, and dual minis, with a worn Silverburst finish that tells her story. At S$400, she’s the deal of my life — an honest, warm-sounding workhorse that shows up whenever I need her, no frills, just music.

2017/18 Seagull Artist Mosaic
The Seagull Artist Mosaic feels like rediscovering the joy of playing again. Light in the hands yet full in voice, she sings with warmth and balance that invite long hours of strumming and reflection. Every note breathes with honesty — a reminder that simplicity, when done right, is its own kind of artistry.

2023 Cort C4 Deluxe
The Cort C4 Deluxe is the bedrock of my rhythm section—solid, reliable, and built for the long run. It delivers punch and clarity without fuss, giving me the freedom to anchor the groove while other instruments take centre stage. In a collection where every piece has a story, the C4 is the unsung hero that keeps everything grounded.

 📈 Business Gear

Gear that tried to stay or was supposed to be flipped. No attachment.

  • 2022 Fender Custom Shop Empire 67 Strat (Magenta Sparkle) — Beautiful, but not my voice. For sale.
  • 1985 Gibson Les Paul Standard “FJ” — Vintage, pretty, investible. We play by the ear.
  • Cort G250 Spectrum — A surprise performer. Possibly flippable.
  • 1977 Fender Precision Bass in Aged Blonde — Vintage mojo, fair deal at three. Currently a business piece — to watch and reassess with time.
  • 2002 Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster “Green” — “Red” is enough.
  • 2008 Gibson Les Paul Standard (50s neck profile) — Strong instrument, but currently not a bonded voice.
  • 2014 Squier Vintage Modified Bass VI — I’m done with the bass vi.

🔭 Future Acquisition

Two icons, two destinies. The 2007 Fender Limited Edition George Fullerton 50th Anniversary 1957 Stratocaster Closet Classic Masterbuilt by Jason Smith (with Relic Tweed Pro Jr) embodies vintage precision — a time capsule of Leo’s genius paired with its relic’d Tweed Pro Jr, singing pure heritage. The 2007 Gibson Custom Shop Historic Collection ’58 Les Paul Reissue R8, in cherry sunburst, answers with deep, resonant authority — the gold standard of tone and tradition. Either could stand proudly beside Regent as a legacy worthy of passing on.
