I got my first tube amplifier in the form of this classic-looking 2-watt VOX Lil’ Night Train amplifier head. She came with the dedicated VOX V110NT speaker cabinet. I got them cheap and so far I like playing through them. I still can’t hear the difference between the tube amp and my modelling amp. Will take time to compare the two. But tubes are supposedly superior in many ways.
I also got my 2nd pedal in the form of the TC Electronic Spark Mini Booster. My 1st is the BOSS RC-3 Loop Station. She’s cheap and wonderfully tiny. Yet, she could crank up my clean tones very well. Even my G&L strat could growl well via the Spark.

Now with the simple tube amp in place, the pedals become important. Spark will provide a simple boost. The RC will loop. I want to get the reverb and volume pedals, and possibly a cabinet simulation (with DI function) like Friedman’s MIC-NO-MO.
