So I traded my Gibson Les Paul Traditional recently off for a James Tyler, and honestly, I miss her.
Gibson has always received flak for making expensive yet subpar quality guitars, but my 2019 Les Paul, to me, was an excellent guitar at a bargain price. I don’t think I would ever get a deal like that again.
Yet, I still want a Gibson again. Which one then?
After reading and hearing about Gibson guitars, I have narrowed it down to:
- A Gibson Les Paul made between 1980 to 1995
- A Gibson 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut
- A Gibson made in Memphis
The bottom line is it has to be made from solid wood. And it should have PAFs (except #2).
