One of the les pauls on my watchlist had her price dropped a few days ago. Yesterday, I went to check her out. The owner was in a band and he gigged with the guitar for sometime. He has since stopped playing guitar for a long time. So she was in the case for a while. I tried to persuade him to keep her as her value would appreciate in the long run. Alas, he has decided it is time to let her go cos he doesn’t play music anymore.
His selling price is low as compared to other standards so I had to take her in. She is quite well taken care of without too many physical flaws. I was a little disappointed the original burstbucker pickups had been swapped out. But I just checked today when I opened her up that the current pickups are both Seymour Duncan Slash pickups. They are quite valuable. The owner was a GnR fan.
This is the 2008 Gibson Les Paul Standard with ’50s Neck Profile.
Updated: I changed the pickup rings to the original-coloured ones.
