After doing the mini guitar business for coming to 5 years, I now have my must-haves. They are:
- Gibson Les Paul
- Fender Stratocaster
- Fender Telecaster
- Fender Precision Bass
- A budget guitar
As of today, my top 6 guitars in my arsenal are:
- 1996 Gibson Custom Shop Historic Collection ’56 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue (checked #1)
- 1988 Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster (checked #2)
- 1985 Gibson Les Paul Standard (checked #1)
- 2020 Epiphone Jared James Nichols “Gold Glory” Les Paul Custom
- 2022 Cort G250 Spectrum (checked #5)
- 2022 Fender Player Precision Bass Special Edition (checked #4)
So my top 6 include two Gibson LPs which I love. Still, I might sell one of them at a profit. I also have the 2008 LP Standard which I am selling. The Epiphone Gold Glory is a must-keep for her looks and single P90.
The Eric Clapton Stratocaster is forcing the Empire 67 Stratocaster out. I really hope to find a buyer this year for her. Though I like Squier Stratocasters, I think they make good small profits and so I won’t keep any for long. Besides, the Cort G250 Spectrum is an excellent budget guitar until another more superior budget comes along.
Missing from my collection right now is a Fender Telecaster. A budget American one or a vintage one is a possibility. The one pickup Esquire is also an unlikely option.
The Mexican P Bass looks to be a keeper, more than the 77 P Bass. I hope to sell the latter this year. Perhaps, the Squier P Bass will stay if I do sell the Mexican one for a profit. Still not quite clear what I want with basses.
I’m still geared towards keeping pretty or interesting guitars such as the Suhr Modern Terra in Forest Green, the Sterling St Vincent, the Silent Siren Telecaster, the Gibson Firebird, the Gibson ES-345 1964 Reissue, the Fender 25th Anniversary or Dan Smith Stratocaster, the Squier Bass VI(which I’d let go before), the Ibanez SRC6(which I’d let go twice before), etc.
For now, I’m good with my amplifiers. Right now, I’m also cool with my pedal board.
