So the Epiphone Gold Glory came out of obscurity in my dungeon to render the wonderful 290 redundant. And the 290, unfortunately, became a pawn in several trade offers.
Yesterday, one trade occurred. The 290 left for a gigging musician’s lodge while this 2002 Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster in candy green (7up green) arrived at my humble home studio. This Clapton belonged to the Second Series of Clapton’s Signature Series, sporting the first version of the vintage noiseless pickups.
A 10-min session with her felt familiar for obvious reasons. I would take a few days to play her before I compare her with my #1, the red Clapton.
After missing out on a 1989 Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster “Blackie” in 2023, I’ve got two this year.
