So as the world continues to grapple with major upheavals that lead to a global ‘recession’, people are more reluctant to spend their money on guitars. The market has slowed down considerably this last quarter. Therefore, it’s not a surprise that I naturally switched my attention to pedals (no thanks to JHS too).
After getting the Wampler Plexi Drive Deluxe (which I’m really happy about), I, quite unexpectedly, got myself the Hotone Binary Amp and the Vertex Tone Secret without breaking the bank yesterday. I’m allowing myself to explore tones with different pedals going forward.
My pedal boards cover more or less what I need:
- Signal chain 1 covers pre-amp/buffer, tuner, fuzz, EQ/boost, drives, phaser, echo, vibrato, delay, reverb, swell, looper and into Fender clean with a little grit.
- Signal chain 2 covers pre-amp/buffer, M5(to be replaced by the Hotone or the Vertex or a drive pedal, H9 and into VOX MV50 AC/Blackstar 10″ Cab and Orange Crush Mini/8″ Cab
For a hobbyist at home, my gears are good enough for me. So 2024 ends tamely on the guitar front but the other gears have got me satisfied.
