Entry for: 19 June 2025
Tonight, I found myself once again drawn to the quiet comfort of Love Notes. I reached for the Collings 290, her P90s clear and honest — no fuss, just soul. The Mimic Mock I added its signature slapback, subtle enough to be felt rather than heard. It was clean, old-school, and just enough.
I began plucking and singing the timeless worship line:
“I could sing of Your love forever.”
Chords: E – F#m – A – B…
Nothing elaborate. Just pure devotion in simple progression.
After the last sung line, I clicked on the Cool Cat Tremolo, letting it pulse gently beneath my fingertips. I stayed in the E to A space, looping slowly, letting the tones move like a breath.
Then something shifted — my voice already, and my fingers took over. Without even thinking, I played the exact melody of the song’s refrain:
“I could sing of Your love forever” — again and again. Not sung. Played.
My hands did the singing.
It was one of those moments that reminded me why I do this. Why I keep the gear I keep, why I let go of the ones that don’t speak, and why music continues to be my quiet way of worship.
Some melodies don’t need words.
Some prayers are strummed.
Tonight, I let my fingers sing.
