the prodical son has returned

Two days ago, I brought in a trio of drive pedals, the Way Huge® Green Rhino™ Overdrive MKIV, the MXR® Il Torino Overdrive and the BOSS OS-2. They are part of a big idea: Love Notes, my beloved signal chain, will start with drive pedals in rotation. I don’t like to stack pedals so I’d like my drive pedals to be the only grit in that signal. Only the Claptons will skip the use of drive when being played at Love Notes.

I took time to explore the three pedals and they all sounded good. I will do a proper drive run that will put all my drive pedals through test playing. I will share the results in due course. For now, the Green Rhino will anchor the bass chops that will support my pbasses.

However, as I put all the drive pedals through their paces, I couldn’t help but remember the one pedal I had let go but regretted doing so. She was something that performed extremely well in both the drive and EQ departments. I actually bought her a few months ago but I went back to the seller to return him the pedal in exchange for the Kasleder House of Blues. I felt I might not need that pedal in my chains back then.

And now the need has come and so I went back to the seller (who also sold me the Collings 290) to buy that same pedal back at the same price. Last night, I welcome back the prodigal son, no, daughter. She is the ThorpyFX Team Medic(1st gen), a Buffer, EQ and Boost pedal. I will share more as part of the drive stories.
