Today, the fuzz pedal has landed. I can’t be more pleased to have acquired the Bumble Buzz, handmade by Chris Young of Union Tube & Transistor, released by Third Man Records of Jack White.
Yes, I was looking at fuzz face, blue box and big muff. But when I think about Jack White’s riffs, I think of the bumble buzz. This is a knobless pedal, something Jack White mentioned and appreciates a lot. Just set and play without the need to adjust. Pete Thorn talked about how he used the guitar pickup, volume and tone to adjust the sounds of the bumble buzz. I caught on at once. I think it’s brilliantly simple.
After giving her a run for some time, the most expensive pedal I’ve purchased is well worth my money. Time for some creative space with the buzz.
Oh, did I mention I also managed to create my own fuzz sound by combining the ehx crayon, the boss eq, the donner boost and the mxr double down?
